Based in: Merton and Kingston.
Hours of Work: Flexible, however walking group leaders are asked to lead minimum one walk per month.
Hourly salary: Unpaid role, however travel expenses are paid for.
Experience and skills required: A love of being outdoors, enthusiasm, flexibility and community spirit are more important than being super-fit.

We are seeking walking group leaders who could accompany our walking groups on 30-90 minute walks in and around London, on a regular basis from our bases in Wimbledon and Kingston.

As a volunteer walk leader, you would be helping people in your community to get active and healthy, providing vital support that they otherwise might not get. We will pay for your travel expenses, and provide a contribution to lunch costs.

As well as ensuring walks are friendly, safe and well run, walking group leaders are also our ambassadors for walking: showing people that walking really can make a big difference to their lives.

Our walking groups caters for a wide variety of walkers, which include people rehabilitating from illnesses, families and older people who like to keep fit.  Everyone is encouraged to stick to their own pace and each walk will have one leader at the front and one at the back so nobody is left behind.

If you are interested in this great opportunity to socialise and get to know new people whilst getting active, please contact the YMCA LSW Community Health And Wellbeing team at team.community@ymcalsw.org or phone 0208 339 7311
